M&S Unicorn Steamed Buns

Unicorn Steamed Buns Review

Prepare for the cuteness of these M&S Unicorn Steamed Buns which look almost too delicious to eat. The M&S oriental food range has increased over the years and these bao buns have come in the form of the cuddly panda, magical unicorn and even a cute bunny.

These are available to buy in stores, some M&S garage stores and on Ocado. £3.40 is a little on the expensive side for two relatively small buns. These were purchased on an Ocado Flash at 40% making them far more reasonable.

Surpisingly they couldn’t have been easier to cook. Pop on a plate and into the microwave for 1.30 minutes. Be careful not to overcook or they will start to crack, or even worse go bang!

The bun dough was light, fluffy and not at all claggy, even in the chunkier parts. The inner is not exactly appetising to look at, and reminds me of a jar of pickle, thankfully it does not taste like it! The vegetables still had a slight crunchier texture to them and there was enough delicious hoisin sauce to enjoy with every bite without becoming too soggy. Even better they are also vegan.

Cost aside I thoroughly enjoyed these M&S Unicorn Steamed Buns. They make a great starter, snack or a light meal if you want to add some salad, or other bits from the M&S range. I would absolutely buy these again if they were on some form of offer.

Have you tried these?
