I have never had the pleasure of having Tim Tam’s but I have heard wonderful things from my Aussie friends and as soon as I saw these I knew I had to have them. Apparently 669 million Tim Tam’s are eaten every year in Australia, now that is a lot of Tim Tam’s and goes to show they must be good.
Fresh sweet strawberry combined with the crisp yet velvety flavour of champagne, coated in Arnott’s famous milk chocolate.
These Tim Tam Strawberry Champagne numbers were part of the limited edition mocktail collection and sat along with Pina Colada, Espresso Martini and Chocolicious Velvet Mudslide.
Reminding me distinctly of our Penguin bars the smell of strawberry was instant upon opening the packet. One bite was all it took, these were delicious. The chocolate biscuit layers were crisp and crunchy with a nice cocoa flavour, the chocolate coating although not as thick as I had hoped, added to the chocolatey flavour and had a creaminess and quality to it. The strawberry filling reminded me of the Strawberry Oreos in the sense that it reminded me of a strawberry milkshake. Thankfully these were’t as sweet as they smelt but sadly though it was missing one thing. There wasn’t a shred of champagne.
As a whole these are a winner winner with me. Although the champagne element is clearly lacking these are strawberrylicious and make for a delightful chocolate snack bar. From this alone I need some other Tim Tam’s in my life.
Nibbles ‘n’ Scribbles x
Did you miss the slyly tucked away “virgin” on the front of package? Sounds like clever marketing trying to pass off strawberry cream as something more sophisticated! Regardless, Tim Tams are great, my personal fave is the dark choc..
Tim Tam explosion! Lush!
Were these in a supermarket or specialist sweet shop?
