Happy Valentine’s Day! Nothing says love like chocolate so naturally that is the theme today. Yesterday saw the new Cadbury Dairy Milk Peanut Butter Oreo bar which didn’t exactly fair well, but today is a new day and its compadre Cadbury Dairy Milk Mint Oreo is here.
I am not usually a mint chocolate fan unless it’s those After Eight Sticks they did, they were glorious. However as I was pretty impressed with the Oreo Mint Cookies and I thought this bar was worth a shot. Costing a joyful £1.00 for a 120g bar, I found this in Sainsbury’s no less.
Milk chocolate with a mint flavour filling (35%) and biscuit pieces (12%). Per 3 chunks: 84 kcal, 2.9g sat fat, 7.3g sugar, 0.9g protein.
Opening up revealed a multitude of chunks which again appeared narrower than I remember. What was evident however was the zingy minty smell that sent the tastebuds into tingling mode. The filling was far more appealing in this bar with a bright mint cream and chunks of Oreo embedded into it.
Going in for that all important bite and hello minty goodness. The bar had an incredible lightness to it and is very akin to the mint flavour you get in an Aero bar. My bugbear with Aero is they are a bit of a nothing chocolate bar with all those bubbles, where as this one had substance and texture. The milk chocolate was not a front runner and was far far in the background against the mint flavouring which lingered long after the piece had been eaten. The Oreo pieces were plentiful and gave some all important texture to the creamy filling, and created a completeness to the bar.
Well this Cadbury Dairy Milk Mint Oreo is spot on, does exactly what it says on the tin and is utterly delightful. If you love the Oreo Mint Cookies or similarly mint chocolate in general, this little beast is for you.

I am such a mint chocolate person. If it’s coffee flavoured chocolate or mint flavoured chocolate, I’m in. I’ll snap your arm off for it. That being said, I’ve had a fair amount of hesitation over Cadbury’s since the take over and reshaping of the Dairy Milk bars. Call me old fashioned (I am totally, don’t mess with my chocolate bars!) but I’ve never transitioned over to their ‘mash up’ bars all that well. All that blather being said, if I spot one of these on my trip back to England this week I’ll be picking one up, based on this review. No pressure or anything 😉
