The People’s Choice – Oreo Choc’o Brownie

Oreo Choc'o Brownie

Nearly a year ago Oreo gave the UK public the chance to vote for the new Oreo flavour following the addition of Strawberry and Mint. Most surprising was over 40% of the votes went on having a chocolate brownie centre, fast forward to the present day and these Oreo Choc’o Brownie biscuits have hit the shelves.

Firstly I am not one of the 40+% people and instead am one of those who are mighty annoyed that despite the option of Banana (my vote), Lemon, or Coconut, we have gone for the boring Brownie Batter. Nonetheless before I completely put this one out for the trash I thought it only fair to give them a try. These have hit pretty much all stores and I found these in Sainsbury’s on offer for 75p.

The creme certainly seemed a little thicker, not a patch on the US version but still a better ratio. The Oreo biscuit was its usual self – dark and slightly bitter. At first these tasted like the regular chocolate Oreo’s expect in came this really odd tangy slightly sourness in the creme which was not at all pleasant. Thinking it maybe a rogue Oreo I did try several others however all had a tanginess to them.  Sadly these didn’t at all remind me of Brownie Batter and instead left me wondering whether something was off in them. I do however concede these are not as terrible as the UK version of the Peanut Butter Oreo, so that’s something I suppose.

Evidently so these look better than they actually taste and it is a massive thumbs down from me for these Oreo Choc’o Brownie. If you want a chocolatey fix then I would go for the Oreo Chocolate Creme.

Have you tried these? What are your thoughts?

I must admit, this flavour combination doesn’t thrill me and I don’t think I would try them after reading this! It’s just a rather unimaginative flavour to release, at least you gave it ago though dear!xx

I cant understand how it thrilled anyone enough to vote for it but apparently it did. Bizarre isn’t it dear, I really wouldn’t bother with these at all. xx
