Mrs Freshley’s Peanut Butter Swiss Rolls & Wafers

Mrs Freshley's Peanut Butter

For those that follow me on Instagram and Twitter you will have seen earlier today a little delivery had arrived from Candy Hero that held some exciting goodies. I couldn’t decide which to go with first so today’s review is a double whammy of peanut butter with Mrs Freshley’s Peanut Butter Swiss Rolls and Mrs Freshley’s Peanut Butter Wafers.

Mrs Freshley's Reese's Peanut Butter Swiss Rolls2 Pack – Peanut Butter Creme Filled Chocolate Cakes

Can we take a moment to admire how pretty these look, I almost didn’t want to crack them open.. almost. I was pretty impressed that these were so together, not a crack in either of them. The swirl on the outside matches that on the inside. These swiss rolls smelt chocolatey and tasted exactly that. The cake was light as a feather, not at all dry and was the perfect thickness. The Reese’s peanut butter creme filling was smooth and just the right amount to carry through a real peanut butter flavouring. Given I am a peanut butter addict I would like to have seen a smidge more of the filling but it was by no means lacking in peanut butter flavour. As a whole it is high on the sweetness scale and one is certainly enough, but overall despite an ingredients list as long as your arm, I’m pleasantly surprised at the taste quality of these.

Mrs Freshley’s Buddy Bars Peanut Butter Wafers – £1.00

Mrs Freshley's Peanut Butter Wafers2 pack – Layers of wafer and peanut butter coated in chocolate

In comparison to the previous these were a little lack lustre in appearance. Each wafer layer was sandwiched with a thin layer of peanut butter and joined together with a barely there coating of milk chocolate. These wafers were deliciously crunchy, light, and melted in the mouth. Again the peanut butter isn’t a hit you in the taste buds and more of a background taste. You could defiantly taste the difference between peanut butters, here it is sweeter, grainer and not all that there in comparison to the Reese’s Swiss Rolls above. These were however a lot less sweeter, which I much preferred. If we could have the Reese’s peanut butter in these wafers we would have one winning Buddy Bar.
