Scentsy Warmers and Bars

Review Scentsy Warmers and Wax Melt Bars

If you know me you know I love a candle or ten, it’s certainly a guilty pleasure and I have done a couple of reviews on the blog. During the current lockdown I have made a serious dent in my candle stocks, so when I was offered the chance to trial the Scentsy Warmers from Scents of Occasion for a few days I jumped at the chance.

Scentsy began with a simple idea, a safe, wickless alternative to scented candles. Their warmers use LED to melt specially formulated wax slowly and with no flame, soot, or wick it is a safe way to enjoy.

The question on everyone’s lips…. Does it ACTUALLY work?

Scentsy Warmer with Love Story Scentsy Bar

There are a lot of warmers to choose from. There’s small, large, varying designs or prices to suit different budgets, basically it would be a surprise if you could not find a warmer that you liked. From switching on to the wax bar starting to melt, was little to no time at all. Naturally the lamp does get hot so do be careful, but on the whole it is easy to clean and to maintain.

Scentsy USB and Plugin WarmerScentsy USB Mini Fan Diffuser and Plugin Warmer

Now the USB plugin what a blooming genius idea. So simple but so good, I loved it. This was permanently whizzing away whilst working from home, and the Vanillamint scent was divine. Sadly it seems this isn’t a current scent anymore but may well feature in the next batch of new flavours; fingers crossed. I guess if you have a USB in your car you could also plug it in there. Some employers may even allow you to have it on at work, when we eventually get back into the office workplace that is.

Scentsy Buddha Plug In Warmer

The plugin wasn’t something I was all that interested in but boy was my mum excited. This is one that needs to be plugged in on a higher wall socket to avoid any accidents. Mum loved it so much she bought the Buddha Head (above) which actually looks lovely, and I have to say I love it too.

Scent wise there are sooooooo many Scentsy Bars to choose from. The bars themselves are made from all-natural essential oils and can last for up to 10 hours. Split into categories it does help you choose particularly if you favour floral over bakery, fresh over woody, or citrus over spice.

Scentsy Fragrance MeltsFragrances

The trial pack came with some samples to either melt, or to smell. Of those my favourites were:

  • Love Story – ‘Innocent pink jasmine and sensual amber embraced by luscious dark chocolate’
  • Safari Sunset – ‘Warm amber set on a backdrop of sweet jasmine with a stroke of sparkling lemon make for a moment of beauty’
  • World Traveller – ‘Blackberry, dark pomegranate and oak bark inspire adventure’
  • Pink Cotton – ‘Find your fantasy on a cloud of Clean Cotton swirled with fruity Pink Berries and Vanilla Sugar’
  • Vanillamint  – ‘Wintergreen frost sparkles over vanilla and frozen citrus’

The scents themselves were all strong but not overpowering. In fact it was quite impressive how much fragrance it kicks out even in the wall plug ins. The fragrances last hours and if you’re only lighting a few hours a day it will last you quite a while. You’ll know when to swap over the bars as because you just won’t smell it anymore.  Thankfully there’s no horrid wax smell that you get with wax melts, which instantly ruins the gorgeous smell you’ve created.

I like that you can literally pop these on and effectively not give it too much attention. Easy to use, clean and swap fragrances, these are a safer alternative to candles and melts. Of course there is the outlay and they aren’t the cheapest out there. However they have varying price points as well as bundle deals and clearance sections. On the whole I am impressed with the entire range and pleased I got to try these out.

I was a big fan of Mochadoodle, which is no longer available. Can you recommend a scent that similar to Mochadoodle. I don’t have access to smell the wax melts so I could use your hel.
    Thanks. B Burns
