Pineapple Jaffa Cakes are not something I ever imagined would be a thing. Normally McVitie’s stay within the safe realms of flavours such as lemon-lime, or strawberry, but they have put on their tropical hat and given us these funky pineapple cakes or biscuits (depending on which side of the fence you are?).
The packaging is brilliant, it is vibrant, eye catching and a marketing masterpiece. If you want to give them a try at the moment then they can be found in Tesco and also on Ocado for £1.00.
Keeping the soft cake base and dark crackly chocolate topping, instead of orange it has a jellied pineapple filling.
Unlike the disappointment had from the Strawberry Jaffa Cakes these packed a punch. The pineapple flavour was undeniable. It was fruity and zingy, and a proven hit with the dark chocolate topping. The sponge of Jaffa Cakes are always on the try side, and I felt it was less noticeable with these.
I have to say these Pineapple Jaffa Cakes are a win, and the best limited editions version McVitie’s have done. Easily polished off, they are a nice addition to the Jaffa Cake family.
What are your thoughts on these?
