Cadbury Dairy Milk Peanut Butter Oreo

Cadbury Dairy Milk Peanut Butter Oreo

It’s new and I am flabbergasted that I have already found the Cadbury Dairy Milk Peanut Butter Oreo. Cadbury have released two new Dairy Milk flavours – Peanut Butter Oreo and Mint Oreo in order to charm young adults. Why this is the way to a young adults heart I do not know, please enlighten me if you do, however it has certainly captured my attention.

I found this 120g bar in my local Sainsbury’s supermarket for £1.00. Let’s not beat around the bush the UK Peanut Butter Oreos were shockingly bad, namely as there wasn’t even a hint of peanut butter in them. That said I am hoping for a blooming miracle here with Cadbury in that this new bar will be the stuff dreams are made of.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo Peanut ButterMilk chocolate with peanut butter flavour filling and biscuit pieces. Per 3 chunks: 84 kcal, 3g sat fat, 7.3g sugar, 0.9g protein.

From first whiff I got a random smell of peanut butter mixed with coffee, most bizarre indeed and these chunks looked a little on the smaller side than normal. Despite the very beige filling the biscuity pieces made it far prettier. Going in for the kill the bar consisted of smooth silky milk chocolate, a thick creamy filling with the addition of chunky Oreo pieces making the texture on point. This tasted far more like peanut butter than the UK Oreos however had more of an earthy synthetic kind of peanut butter taste than the light and fresh flavour that it could have been. I could still detect an element of coffee undertones which is not at all desirable and I am not sure if it is just the earthiness of the filling or not, either way no chocolate bar should taste earthy.

Sadly the Cadbury Dairy Milk Peanut Butter Oreo has met my expectations of being naff. The smell is questionable and the taste is off putting, the only decent thing being the texture and ratios are spot on. Peanut butter, Oreo, and chocolate lovers give this one a swerve.

Wow. Not a good wow either! Not even an Owen Wilson wow. Cadbury’s have sure let the team down here. From one peanut butter bro to another, stick with Reece’s Pieces.

I thought exactly the same. Tastes earthy. Such a strange taste. I do not rate it at all. Won’t be buying it again. Whoever taste tests these must have no taste buds. X

I too thought this mary dilk Oreo peanut butter tasted of coffee and was highly dissapointed with my purchase. Initially I thought it was just me, due to the fact that I drink rather a lot of coffee and just before trying the oreo pb I had just finished a cup of fresh ground that was a much darker roast than I normally drink, so assumed it was that. Especially given the fact that the other people I had given squares to so they could try it insisted I was mad and thought it tasted just fine.
Then this morning when I was buying some milk I bought another bar of it and again it tastes of coffee. This lead me to google “Dairy Milk Oreo Peanut Butter tastes of Coffee????”, which lead me to this blog. I’m now both happy that I’m not crazy, and it really does taste of coffee, and annoyed at all the people that told me it was all in my head haha

Welcome to the club, you are not alone and not at all crazy. I still cannot get over how this tastes of coffee, how have they made that possible? If you are after a peanutty chocolate delight then the Dairy Milk Big Taste Peanut Caramel Crisp is a gooden and not a hint of coffee in sight 🙂

I found this AWFUL! I’m a chocolate lover and always grab something new if I find it, especially if it’s Cadburys! I also happen to love peanut butter – love Reeses products – so I was very excited about this. My first thought was “yuck” it tasted earthy and of articificial coffee, not salty and nutty as I expected. It actually reminds me of the coffee filled Revels that everyone hates! How could they get this so wrong?

I am so happy to read that you too could taste coffee, I have said this to a few people and they’ve looked at me oddly. Now you have mentioned Coffee Revels this is exactly what it tastes like!! How you can get peanut butter so wrong is beyond me.

What a shame! I didn’t like the peanut butter oreos either so I was hoping this chocolate would be better. I read another review on Twitter last night saying this chocolate wasn’t nice at all so I’ll definitely be avoiding. Thanks for saving me £1!

Yes it certainly hasn’t gone down well with the majority. Keep that pound and by the Cadbury Mint Oreo version! x

“Peanut butter, Oreo, and chocolate lovers give this one a swerve. ” – So basically we’re saying, just buy a different bar of chocolate if you’d like to actually consume chocolate? 😀 Great review! Food Bloggers – Eating things so others don’t have to. x
