Peanut Butter Oreo UK

Peanut Butter Oreo

After hearing Oreo were launching the Limited Edition Peanut Butter Oreo I made it my mission to find them. I loved the mini Reese’s Oreos I found in an American Sweet shop, and alongside being a PB fiend, I was more than eager to try these ‘normal’ sized versions. After searching a gazillion supermarkets, hence my lateness to this Oreo party, I finally found them as a Snack Pack. I’m partial to the snack pack varieties a) because I am less likely to scoff the whole pack, and b) the biscuits don’t go soft, nobody likes a soft biscuit!

Individually wrapped in foil packets, each has 2 Oreos in with peanut butter sandwiched between the classic Oreo chocolate biscuits.

Peanut Butter Oreo

Upon first glance have Oreo’s really been this skinny all along? These seem so deflated. Doing the obligatory twist it is pretty thin in the filling department, but it did smell of peanut butter. So onto the tasting. I tried them as a whole biscuit as well as separated. As soon as I started munching it was all Oreo biscuit and not a hint of the peanut butter filling. It could be the barely there filling, however on pondering the ingredients the biscuits do not even contain peanut butter. *cue jaw drop* How can a Peanut Butter Oreo not actually contain peanut butter? Am I the only one baffled by this utter craziness? Surely this is false advertising here!

These UK Peanut Butter Oreo’s are certainly a disappointment and frankly I won’t miss them once their Limited Edition time is up. Don’t get me wrong they are okay, but it just doesn’t deliver what it is promising. If you want a Peanut Butter Oreo I wouldn’t bother with these in the slightest; go for the Reese’s ones. Yes they are far more expensive given they are an import, however they deliver on the peanut butter, and that is the crux of the matter here.

I was disappointed, too. I love peanut butter and couldn’t wait to try these PB-flavoured Oreos. But the PB cream does not taste like PB at all, and there are not even any peanuts in the ingredients. A great idea that falls flat in practice.

Just got some and wanted to know what they are like. I’ve had chocolate and regular Oreos in the past and thought the peanut butter ones would be good. I had a peanut butter kitkat chunky earlier and it didn’t really taste of peanut butter either a bit of a different texture to a regular one but not by much I just think if over powered or there just isn’t enough the peanut butter taste can fall to the way side. Reeses do it well though I have to say maybe they just know what they’re doing
