Cadbury Dairy Milk Simply the Zest Chocolate Bar

Cadbury have three new chocolate bars all of which were created by chocoholics as part of Cadbury’s inventor’s competition. It is then up to us to vote for one to be triumphant and be a permanent fixture. First up on the blog is the Cadbury Dairy Milk Simply the Zest Chocolate Bar.  Although Poundland appeared to be the first to stock these bars, they are now readily available in supermarkets and corner shops alike. Each 110g bar comes in at £1.49 a pop but are mostly on offer for a £1.00, so shop around.  The name alone I absolutely love! Not…

Mars Choc Brownie Bar

The Mars Choc Brownie Bar is a twist on the original Mars bar. Whether you are a traditionalist or not the addition of brownie maybe enough to tempt you to try this new chocolate bar. It has been around for a while and opinions are certainly divided.  Singular or in a multipack getting your hands on the Mars Choc Brownie Bar is easy peasy. They can be found in all major supermarkets, online supermarkets and even newsagents and range from 60p upwards.  One would assume that with the offer of ‘chocolate brownie’ you would get a soft, slightly squishy chocolatey…

Hotel Chocolat Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake

Yes it is another round of Hotel Chocolate delights. The reason for the visit at the weekend was purely for gift purposes only. However after perusing the Selector section and spying the Hotel Chocolat Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake, I knew they were coming home with me.  Usually the PB & J combo is something that is given a miss. However the description of “salted peanut praline sandwiched in jammy raspberry-white chocolate” was too enticing.  As always the Selector’s come in at £3.95 a pop or 3 for £10. There are a few newbies in town, and I hear there…

Limited Edition Strawberry Jaffa Cakes

The Strawberry Jaffa Cakes are back. Yes they first made their appearance a year or so ago and have come back around. Why I am not too sure. Perhaps it is down to summer fast approaching and these certainly seem like more of a summer flavour.  I am quite traditional when it comes to Jaffa Cakes and I don’t think I tried the Strawberry version first time around. That being said I thought heck why not give them ago. After all strawberry and chocolate is a grand combination.  Keeping the soft cake base and dark chocolate topping, instead of a…

Nestle KitKat Ruby Chocolate

Ruby chocolate has been gathering pace and Nestle have certainly helped to bring this a little more mainstream with their KitKat Ruby Chocolate.  Originally only available in Tesco, these bars have gravitated and I found this single bar in Sainsbury’s for 60p. You may have even spied the Easter Egg, which was tempting!  What makes ruby chocolate so special? A number of years ago cocoa experts discovered components of certain cocoa beans could produce a chocolate with an exceptional flavour and colour. This gorgeously coloured Ruby cocoa bean offers a totally new taste experience, and I couldn’t be more excited…
