Mallow & Marsh Peanut Marshmallow Bar

Mallow and Marsh Peanut and Chocolate Marshmallow

I have finally got my hands on the new Mallow & Marsh Peanut Marshmallow Bar. I have not seen even a smidge of advertising, and I just so happened to have stumbled across a random tweet about one of these and low and behold on my lunch break I spied it in Boots. It must have been fate.

I can’t tell you the last time I have had a Mallow & Marsh marshmallow and I am not even sure why, their Mint Choc ones are my favourite, which ironically seems to be the one bar I think they no longer do.

I like that Mallow & Marsh are still going strong in their flavour choices and this Peanut marshmallow bar joins their other chocolate coated range which includes coconut, raspberry and of course classic vanilla.

Sadly it didn’t fair too well in transit but sometimes we can’t have it all. The chocolate coating looked thin however was far more dominant than I thought it would have been. The quality was certainly there but it really did detract from the beauty that was the peanut marshmallow. The small chopped peanuts embedded in the sticky, squidgy mallow was a beautiful move and gave it that peanut flavour but for me the chocolate drowned this out. The sweetness was of course there, it wouldn’t be a marshmallow without sweetness!

I am torn with this one. I love the marshmallow itself but the chocolate coating just isn’t doing it for me. Personally I would prefer if this were either a naked marshmallow or if the chocolate is a must have, then a drizzle over the top would be a nice touch.

What are your thoughts on the new Mallow & Marsh Peanut Marshmallow bar?

When I gave it a try, I wanted a darker chocolate coating or a touch more salt in the mix. I’d not heard they used to do a Mint Choc marshmallow! I’d have been all over that thing. I’m still holding out hope for a Cappuccino Mallow next. (Or Espresso… or whatever coffee name they want to give it!)

Thank you. The marshmallow really is on point, even the chocolate is but together I just found it got a bit lost. Let me know what you think 🙂
