As you all know Cadbury have given us some hulk of a chocolate bar that comes in 3 varieties, Toffee Whole Nut, Oreo Crunch and Triple Choc Sensation which I reviewed earlier this week, (which you can read here if you missed it).
This bar is 26cm long, 9.5cm in width, and 300g in weight and this reflects in the price of £3 per bar. Yes it maybe a beast of a bar but there really is something I begrudge about paying £3 for a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Milk chocolate with toffee flavoured filling (32%), Caramel (10%) and hazelnuts (8%).
Upon opening the packet the smell was ever so delightful and inviting, who doesn’t love the smell of rich buttery toffee caramel? I was pleasantly surprised that there was a generous thick layer of toffee filling that was topped with the sticky gooey caramel puddle which gave a double whammy of sweet delicious filling. The toffee is the dominant flavour and as a collective the flavour is pretty bold and does detract from the milk chocolate. That said it isn’t a bad thing given we all know Cadbury Dairy Milk is not the same as it is in other countries and Ireland are certainly trumping us in that department. Personally I could take or leave the hazelnut. Yes it adds a nice nuttiness to the sweetness, but equally I’m not really a lover of nuts in chocolate, it wastes space for say extra chocolate or delicious toffee filling!
This Cadbury Big Taste Toffee Whole Nut is a good old bar, incredible moreish, and it runs rings around the Triple Choc Sensation. I can’t help but think that get rid of the nut or chop them up finer and it would be a complete winner. Out the two don’t waste your money on the Triple Choc Sensation go for the Toffee Whole Nut.
Nibbles ‘n’ Scribbles x
I’m so hoping they produce this in a small bar too, I’m loathe to spend £3 on a bar of Cadbury’s chocolate!
