Cadbury Dairy Milk is my absolute fave! It trumps Galaxy hands down (I know, I know cue the uproar), if you disagree I am happy to take your Dairy Milk off your hands! Cadbury fusions have been popping up quite a lot; we have had Oreo, Strawberries and Creme, Daim, Ritz, Crunchie, the list goes on. More recently Chips Ahoy! cookies are the latest to be squeezed into the deliciously creamy Cadbury milk chocolate, but do two delicious products make one super product?
A bold choice by Cadbury considering unlike the Oreo, Chips Ahoy! is largely unknown, or at least you weren’t able to get them in the supermarkets until very recently. To be honest I thought this bar would be crushed chunks of Chips Ahoy! within the chocolate, but instead Cadbury went for the all too familiar creamy filling sandwiched between their chocolate, an exact replica to the Dairy Milk Oreo and Strawberries and Creme.
Opening up the bar, the smell is chocolatey and biscuity all in one (off to a good start). General consensus from the three of us – The filling is as creamy as it looks, and tastes as biscuity as it smells, it’s not too sweet and sickly which one would expect, and overall was pleasant; we certainly didn’t struggle polishing off the bar. Is it a super bar? Not really. On the whole we were all a little deflated by it. There defiantly should be bigger chunks of Chips Ahoy! cookies, not just a few bits scattered amongst the biscuity paste. It is very similar to the Dairy Milk Oreo, and I have got to say Oreo is far tastier and I would much rather buy that over the Chips Ahoy!.
Surely enough I doubt this is the last of the Cadbury fusions, and it will only be a matter of time before they bring out a new one. With Cadbury now being across the pond I imagine more US staples will be more of a feature. Maybe we will see Cookie Dough, Salted Caramel or even a triple decker of Dream, Bournville and Dairy Milk all in one? Personally I long for Peanut Butter, they have done so in other countries so lets hope it won’t be too long before we get it! Lets just hope that with the selling of Cadbury they don’t start messing with the Dairy Milk!
