Sainsbury’s have been firing out the twist in the classic custard creams, but for this Christmas they have also given us the Bourbon Twists Black Forest edition.
Bourbon to me is an underrated biscuit. I love them and it reminds me of my Grandad, although I am sure he would have a few choice words to say about messing with a Bourbon!
For 65p a pack you cannot go wrong. These chocolate sandwich biscuits are filled with black cherry flavour cream filling and the fruity cherry aroma can be smelt the minute you open the packet. Isn’t it nice to see that they haven’t succumbed to a mint choc or orange.
A perfect dunker with your cuppa, these chocolatey Bourbons are just that. The pinky inner has a sweet cherry flavour to it that gives way to the chocolatey biscuit flavour. For something that packs a punch the minute you open the packet, I really expected there to be a real punch of cherry.
I cannot deny that I still very much enjoyed these Sainsbury’s Bourbon Twists Black Forest and would buy them again. However they had room to have upped the black forest flavouring, which would have made these a real twist.
Have you tried these yet? What flavour combo would you like to see next?
