Lacasa Turrón de Cheesecake

Sunday the day of rest and today’s review is Lacasa turrón de Cheesecake, and was part of some exciting goodies brought back for me from Spain. Pretty as a picture and despite not being a great cheesecake fan. I was looking forward to trying this rather different goodie. Nougat Praline Cheesecake As with all cheesecakes you have the biscuit base and cheesecake upper, and this is no different, albeit the two layers aren’t very visible to the eye. The first thing I noticed was the smell, and not a very nice smell, a cross between cheap quality white chocolate and sickly…

Milka Oreo

Whilst on our travels over the Christmas period I took the opportunity to pop into a BM store as there isn’t one that local to me. Perusing the aisles I came across this Milka Oreo bar and at a bargain price of 99p I could not resist buying it. We all know that Cadbury Dairy Milk have attempted the Oreo and to be fair it’s not that bad, but it could be better. 100% Alpine milk chocolate and original crunchy Oreo cookie pieces. Unlike the Cadbury version, Milka is a lot flatter and does not pack as much filling. The Oreo pieces…

Twix Peanut Butter

What better way to start the new year than with Peanut Butter! Yes my addiction to peanut butter continues with another peanut butter hybrid and comes in the form of a Twix bar.   Normally Twix bars are tricky to break but without the caramel these snapped pretty easily. The packaging points to a new recipe however not knowing the old recipe, I’m not too sure what the differences are.  Creamy peanut butter covering a chocolate cookie, coated in milk chocolate. Don’t be fooled by the creamy aspect of the peanut butter because although it was smooth it was not creamy like you’d expect…

Goodbye 2015.. Hello New Year

Can you believe it is the last day of 2015? At the beginning of every year it feels like a hell of a long time till December, yet here we are on the 31st December in disbelief that tomorrow will bring a new year.  What was 2015 for me? Well I met some amazing and fabulous bloggers, you know who you are :), I went to my first blogging event solo, Nibbles ‘n’ Scribbles had its first birthday, my blogging hat is pretty much permanently on given I cannot go into a supermarket or eat out without seeking to review (I’m not…

Sainsbury’s Gingerbread Ice Cream

Happy Christmas Eve Everyone!! What better way to mark the day before christmas than with Sainsbury’s Gingerbread Ice Cream. I have been like a woman possessed searching for this tub; because frankly Gingerbread Ice Cream is an ice cream I want to get on board with.  I have never really seen Gingerbread as solely a festive foodie flavour and my love for Jamaican Ginger Cake is something I feed throughout the year. Now if Sainsbury’s can morph that into an ice cream, just like Mr Kipling did with their Viennese Whirls, well we will have one happy Nibs ‘n’ Scribs…
