Flavoured Digestives are not a new thing and since last year we have had an array of them. From Cherry Bakewell to Lemon Drizzle, Marmalade on Toast and Blood Orange, it’s certainly a far cry from the usual chocolate variety. One of the latest additions to join the family is the McVitie’s Strawberry Cheesecake Digestives.
Now you may remember that last year they released a Strawberries & Cream version, so why they have chosen Strawberry Cheesecake so soon after is a mystery. In fact this isn’t the first time strawberry cheesecake has featured as they previously did a filled cream version.
You can pick these up at pretty much any supermarket and their online counterparts. These are quite simply “Strawberry Cheesecake Flavour Wheatmeal Biscuits Covered in Milk Chocolate”.
First bite I honestly thought wow that actually does taste of cheesecake. It had a little tanginess and subtle strawberry flavour, it was quite impressive. However since then, and multiple tries later I cannot get even a hint of flavour from the biscuits. Dunking them didn’t even do anything. Bemusing!
What started out as quite promising turned into just another choccie biccie. It’s a shame that these McVitie’s Strawberry Cheesecake Digestives didn’t harness the flavour throughout, they could have had a winning combo.
Nibbles ‘n’ Scribbles
Not much strawberry flavor in them. Waste of money
