Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest Bar

Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest Bar

On the grapevine Quest Bars are the top dog when it comes to protein bars and taste rather delicious in comparison to it’s fellow competition. I have been struggling with the snacks on the 90 Day SSS Plan, really there’s only so many nuts a gal can eat and given fruit is a twice a week number, so I decided to give these Quest Bars a go.

There are so many flavours and after whittling it down I ordered 5 bars from Dolphin Fitness (FYI considerably cheaper here and you can buy singles), and they arrived pretty darn quickly. Given my peanut butter addiction and 10g peanut butter with my rice cakes every day is not enough to feed the addiction, I naturally dived towards the Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest Bar.

Thank you to those who on Instagram recommend to heat these up before tucking in because that really was the life saver here. Without that it was practically a brick, very hard going on the teeth and not all that tasty. Microwaving for about 20 secs produced a squidgy chocolatey bar that was akin to a brownie texture and bought out the chocolatey flavour. Lets not kid ourselves mind this is no brownie but it is nice and has a chocolatesque taste to it. I was pretty hopeful for the peanutty taste as you see the bar was littered with tiny peanut pieces, however they literally didn’t exist. There was nothing peanutty or peanut buttery about this Quest Bar in the slightest whether it was in its original cold form or after I had heated it up. Zero, zilch, nada! This did indeed leave me disappointed especially as fellow reviews online compared this to a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Where the heck they are getting that from I do not know because Reese’s this is not.

The Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest Bar isn’t quite what it says on the packet. Yes it has a chocolatey taste to it and is a bit of a treat, however peanut / peanut butter it is not. I did not manage to finish the bar as it got a bit boring and it is not one I would buy again. These bars are pretty sizeable and do fill you up, hopefully the other varieties I bought are tastier than this. Although I would not recommend this bar what I would definitely recommend is warming these bad boys up before eating them, that in itself is a winner!

You’re most welcome Amy!! I really wouldn’t bother with this one at all. Protein bars will never be an indulgence per say but at least if you are going to say peanut pop some peanut flavour in there!! xx
