There is no denying that Gin is once again the drink of the year. There was once a time when the selection was merely a handful of plain gins but now there’s practically a gin for every flavour. With more and more small batch, flavoured and liqueur gins hitting shelves, it is easy to see its popularity, and there’s no sign of it slowing down.
So with 10 days and counting to go until the big festive day, we are getting in the G&T spirit with these Gin ideas to buy, gift and drink.
So let’s get on with this years fab-yule-ous Ginmas.
Gin Tales Chocolate Orange Gin – Image from Gin Tales
Chocolate Orange Gin you say. Hell to the yeah! Sitting down with a glass of this and an orange twirl, or better still they suggest giving your hot chocolate the boot, and having this warm to give a little extra punch.
Edinburgh Gin Orange Blossom and Mandarin Gin Liqueur *
I had to include one from Edinburgh Gin because they’re one of my favourites. I too am mildly obsessed with orange gin, and this is a great addition!
Marks and Spencer Snow Globe Gin Image from M&S
Nothing says party like a bit of shimmer, sparkle and a hell of a lot of glitter. M&S have released their Clementine Gin Liqueur Snow Globe filled with edible 23 carat gold leaf pieces, and frankly it looks amazing. It’s only available in store so get in there quick before this £15 christmassy bottle sells out.
Tanqueray No Ten – Image from Tanqueray
Whether you prefer the Tanqueray No Ten or their London Dry Gin their both a good old faithful and shouldn’t be ignored. Classic, makes a great G&T and you can spruce it up if you want.
Eden Mill Love Gin Liqueurs Spiced Rhubarb Crumble * Image from Eden Mill Instagram
Sometimes you just need a little bit of love. Enter Eden Mill Love Gin Liqueurs. Their Raspberry, Vanilla & Meringue is delicious and I expect that their latest edition of Spiced Rhubarb Crumble is enough to make you go weak at the knees! If it’s a Christmas flavour you’re after then they have you covered too.
It’s two for one here with The Surrey Copper Distillery. With the gorgeous bottles and scripture on the reverse, this comes in two volumes. Volume One is as delicate floral notes finely balanced with a woody spice. Whereas Volume Two is juniper-led with fragrant floral notes and subtle hints of spice.
The Infusionist Gingerbread Gin Liqueur
Nothing says Christmas like a bit of gingerbread. This beauty has made another appearance this year on the shelves of Aldi, and for £9.99 it’s a bargain.
Silent Pool Gin * Image from Silent Pool Instagram
Favourite alert! For a simple G&T Silent Pool is the one. Gorgeous bottle, which FYI looks even better with bottle lights in, this gin is smooth and has a wonderful flavour. No wonder when it has 24 botanicals in! If you’re thinking of more of a gift then you can also pick up a gift pack with gin glass.
No unicorns were harmed in the making of this Firebox gin. With its iridescent glittery shimmer, unleash the magical powers by swirling the bottle, pour and enjoy the mythical spirit.
Of all the gins I have tried this year, this is one that shocked me. Mostly because how they got a gin to taste of blueberries this darn well is a mystery. It’s also sugar and artificial colouring free.
Warners Christmas Cake Gin Image from Warners
If it’s Christmas cake you want then it’s Christmas cake you shall have. For the perfect festive G&T they recommend pairing this with Fever-Tree Madagascan Cola and garnish with a slice of fresh orange. Simple.
I hope these Gin Ideas to Buy, Gift and Drink has inspired you.
