Cadbury Butterscotch Hot Cakes

Cadbury Hot Cakes are new on the block and come in two varieties, Double Choc and Butterscotch. Butterscotch is one of my favourite things and always reminds me of the butterscotch tart you used to get at school, which was clearly the only good thing about school dinners! Coming home after a late day at work, these little Butterscotch Hot Cakes were sat waiting for me and naturally of the two varieties these were the perfect choice.   Described as melting butterscotch cakes, smothered in Cadbury milk chocolate, they couldn’t sound any more enticing. As soon as I opened the packet I was hit…

Cereal Lovers Granola

I have phases where I eat so much cereal I look like a bowl of cereal. I am a lover of granola but find that it is usually packed full of sugar and I’m frantically searching for the snacks at elevensies. Insert the new Granola Gurus on the block – Cereal Lovers. Cereal Lovers were at The Bloggers Hangout Food Festival (previous post here) and kindly gave be a bag full of their granolas to try. Made in Dorset their granolas are simply fruit granolas with no nasties and no added sugar, and most are 1 of your 5 a-day. Each…

Alpen Light Jaffa Cake & Banoffee

Cereal bars, the saviour of keeping those hunger pangs at bay and eating whilst on the run. It’s been a long time since Alpen Light has given us some new flavours but the time has finally come, enter Alpen Light Jaffa Cake and Alpen Light Banoffee. Browsing the aisles at Sainsbury’s, yes that’s right I found these in Sainsbury’s no less, I was just about to pick up the usual Cherry Bakewell and Chocolate & Fudge when I spied these. I have got to say I was pretty darn excited to see these two flavours, and even more eager to try them.  Jaffa…

Peanut Butter Oreo UK

After hearing Oreo were launching the Limited Edition Peanut Butter Oreo I made it my mission to find them. I loved the mini Reese’s Oreos I found in an American Sweet shop, and alongside being a PB fiend, I was more than eager to try these ‘normal’ sized versions. After searching a gazillion supermarkets, hence my lateness to this Oreo party, I finally found them as a Snack Pack. I’m partial to the snack pack varieties a) because I am less likely to scoff the whole pack, and b) the biscuits don’t go soft, nobody likes a soft biscuit! Individually wrapped in…

Woking Food & Drink Festival 2015

It’s that time of year again. Woking Food & Drink Festival was back for another year and was bigger than ever. Stretching over 3 days, there was an abundance of food and drink stalls, book signings, masterclasses at Tante Marie, BBQ Demonstrations, and live cookery demos from the well known Daniel Britten and Monica Galetti, to the chefs from restaurants around Surrey.  For me Sunday is where it was at. Why? John Whaite of course! I am a humongous Bake Off fan, like super fan, into the fact I am devastated I am going to miss the finale this year (it is…
