Woking Food & Drink Festival 2015

It’s that time of year again. Woking Food & Drink Festival was back for another year and was bigger than ever. Stretching over 3 days, there was an abundance of food and drink stalls, book signings, masterclasses at Tante Marie, BBQ Demonstrations, and live cookery demos from the well known Daniel Britten and Monica Galetti, to the chefs from restaurants around Surrey.  For me Sunday is where it was at. Why? John Whaite of course! I am a humongous Bake Off fan, like super fan, into the fact I am devastated I am going to miss the finale this year (it is…

The Grown Up Chocolate Company Superb Salted Peanut Caramel

It has been mission find The Grown Up Chocolate Company bars near me, and in particular the Salted Peanut Caramel one. If you are a regular reader you may recall I reviewed their Lovely Fruity Nutty Crunchy bar, fear not if you haven’t you can read it here.  Whilst out and about I spied an array of The Grown Up Chocolate Company in Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shop, and jumped for joy that they had the Superb Salted Peanut Caramel. Marks & Spencer Gastropub Beef Wellington

Today’s post is a savoury number. Inspired by dishes found on gastropub menus, Marks & Spencer’s Gastropub range is ever expanding. In our house we are a huge fan of their Runny Scotch Eggs and have subsequently been eyeing up their Gastropub Beef Wellington for some time. At £14.99 it’s on the expensive side for a ready meal, but on this occasion we are taking the plunge. Cooking couldn’t be simpler. Place on a baking tray, pop in the oven for 25 minutes, and hey presto it should be a beautiful medium / rare.  British beef fillet with rich mushroom and chicken liver duxelle, wrapped…

Gnaw Cherry Bomb & Banoffee Pie

Whilst on a dreaded trip to a Garden Centre I first came across Gnaw chocolate, the Peanut Butter bar to be precise. Aside from this I haven’t come across Gnaw until a little trip to Suffolk. Handcrafted in Gnawfolk, see what they did there, Gnaw use all natural ingredients and definitely no nasties. Running away with their imagination, there are a variety of chocolate bars, Hot Choc shots, Nibbles and Chompers on offer. The most difficult part is choosing which ones to buy.  Banoffee Pie £2.99: Caramel milk flavoured chocolate topped with banana, Gnaw have been creative with the classic British…

Krispy Kreme Reese’s Peanut Butter Crunch

It was a hallelujah moment when Krispy Kreme introduced peanut butter to their doughnuts, and in actual fact it was this along with their Lotus Biscoff doughnut that made me fall a little in love with Krispy Kreme. Like others I mourned the loss of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Doughnut shell, but fear not, with 76% of the vote it’s back, and it has bought a new doughnutty friend. Say hello to Krispy Kreme Reese’s Peanut Butter Crunch doughnut!  Krispy Kreme have taken their classic ring doughnut and have coated it in sticky Reese’s peanut butter icing, and topped it with chocolate…
