M&S is starting to have quite the knack for seasonal goodies and for their Easter delights they have given us the M&S Speckled Egg Cookies. These limited edition cookies contain white and milk chocolate buttons and speckled chocolate eggs, very apt for Easter.
Coming in packs of 5, they cost £3.10, which is a little pricer than other supermarket cookies these days.
The cookie itself looks the part: generously sized, properly chunky, and studded with chocolate chunks and pastel coloured speckled crushed eggs that give it a playful, Easter‑ready vibe. Taste‑wise, they’re good, very sweet … but it was let down by the bake. This may just be a rouge issue from the store baking but the bake itself was on the crisp side, which means you didn’t get that soft, slightly gooey middle that makes a cookie feel like a real treat. Frankly it was crying out for it to be warmed up which I did and it was so much better.
Of the seasonal cookies on offer theses M&S Speckled Egg Cookies aren’t bad, but they aren’t a favourite. I am still craving the White Chocolate and Gingerbread ones, they were top tier!
