The weather down here has certainly perked up and today has been a delightfully fresh sunny day. So what better way to see in the sunny weather than with ice cream? That’s not to say I don’t eat ice cream when its howling with wind, rain and minus goodness knows what outside! I haven’t had anything Salted Caramel in a while so to fix this today’s review is Jude’s Salted Caramel Ice Cream.
Jude’s Ice Cream is made in Hampshire with the aim of making the tastiest ice cream ever. Not only are they trying to win us over with their ‘mindblowingly delicious flavours’, Jude’s also give back to the community by donating 10% of their profits to charities who support children and young people.
I love the packaging, isn’t it just the cutest!! Each 120ml pot comes with a ‘spoon’ under the lid and all their tubs are Gluten Free so pretty much everyone can enjoy; they even do a Dairy Free Chocolate tub. Made with fresh milk and double cream, it tastes how ice cream should taste. It is one smooth, creamy ice cream that has the right balance of richness that keeps it luxurious without being sickly. With a rich caramelly colour that mirrors in taste, it actually reminds me of a Werther’s Original. There is a slight hint of saltiness, not too much that it overpowers the caramel but just enough to off balance the sweetness. I cannot deny that I did crave a touch more salt but as it stands it is a salted caramel and not all caramel and no salt.
Jude’s Salted Caramel is a little bit of luxury in a mini pot to enjoy at home. Jude’s have far more ‘scoops’ available than there are actual tubs to buy, which is a shame, but their other tub flavours sound delightful, and I am certainly on the look out for a few of them. In the meantime if you spy the salted caramel give it a go.
