Benefit Cosmetics Make-Up Masterclass with Lisa Potter Dixon

Benefit Cosmetics Goody Bag Roller Lash Puff Off

It’s a fact! I am Benefit make-up and skincare obsessed!

You can imagine that I was beyond excited to hear that as part of the Woman and Home Beauty event, there was going to be a make-up Masterclass with none other than Head Make-Up & Trend Artist, Lisa Potter Dixon; and better still it was being held nearby.

Benefit Cosmetics Make-up Master ClassHouse of Fraser had opened up their Beauty Hall specifically for Woman and Home Magazine, with most of the top beauty brands giving away treatments and make-overs. Greeted by friendly faces and the Benebabes, we kickstarted the evening with a cocktail, well all great evenings start with cocktail, and eagerly awaited the Master Class.

Tickets were a very reasonable £15 each and was redeemable against any Benefit purchase. We all received a goody bag containing a full size Roller Lash Mascara, little notepad and pen to write the handy hints and tips given during the masterclass, Puff Off sample, and some Benefit Cosmetics coasters. I’m a fan of Roller Lash so having a full size one was a winner, and the confidence boosting one-liner coasters, were super cute and unique.

The masterclass itself was amazing. Lisa was lovely, funny and very down to earth. She took us through step by step how to create a gorgeous dewy look; the end result was beautiful! The steps were easy peasy for those not quite masters in make-up application, products and tools used were multipurpose, and the look can be easily replicated and was oh so quick to do!

So what did I learn? Aside from the all important stages of applying your make-up, to do this you only need, at the very most, 5 make-up brushes! Yes only 5! I also learnt it’s totally okay to use Hoola bronzer as well as blusher, the perfect eyeliner application using They’re Real Push Up Liner, including how to do that all important flick, and the power of the brow!

After the masterclass it was time for some product testing and make-overs. The gorgeous Lisa spent time with some of us girls to give us personalised advice. Here is where the power of the brow comes in. The brow is the most important aspect of your face when it comes to make up application, and can truly transform your face. I tried Gimmie Brow and my oh my what a difference. I am a hider of the brows, it’s partly why I got a fringe, however this product works wonders – hello gorgeous brows. Even if you thought you would’t need it if you have dark eyebrows, think again, it’s a confidence booster!Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Push Up Liner, Gimmie Brow, They're Real Mascara Blue

Second up They’re Real! Push Up Eyeliner. Tonight marked the exclusive release for us of They’re Real Push Up Liner in 3 new jewel tone colours – beyond blue, beyond purple and beyond green. All 3 colours are gorgeous and I know I will end up buying all three, but I opted for the purple to start. They’re Real! Push up Eyeliner took 7 years to develop and no wonder why. Benefit have really thought of every aspect, the consistently of the liquid, the shape and length of the pen, and the flexible tip allowing it to hug into the eyelashes. It does take a few applications to get the hang of it, the trick is you need to stamp it on, but once you have you will never look back!

Bit of an out there choice, but I opted for the They’re Real! Mascara in Beyond Blue. Lisa had this on and it looked amazing, and she was slightly obsessed with this too! Popped over black mascara this gives a navy hue, opt for on it’s own and its a pop of bright blue or if your not too sure on all over blue, go for the tips of the lashes.

And there we have it! Was the Masterclass event worth it? Absolutely. Would I go to another one again? Yes sign me up! There’s lots of tips to learn, you’re surrounded by Benefit Makeup and it’s a fun and fabulous night out! If you get the chance to go to one near you, go, you will not regret it.
