The hotly anticipated new chocolate bar is here. Yes it is the KitKat Chunky Lotus Biscoff. The fact it was coming to the UK has completely passed me by, who knew they even did an easter egg version too! Nevertheless here we are with the new bar in hand ready to review it.
These are currently in Tesco and can be purchased for 3 for £1.20. There is no word yet as to whether they will hit other supermarkets and local shops.
Classic Chunky style each bar is three pieces in length and consists of crispy wafer topped with a layer of the signature Lotus Biscoff spread and biscuit crumb, wrapped in milk chocolate.
The thick layer of Biscoff is promising and let’s face it the expectations are super high. I fear I may have the unpopular opinion here but here goes. From snap to munching it is unfortunately a lack lustre bar. Whilst hints of Biscoff come through there is no smack you in the taste buds gorgeousness of spectacular speculoos.
Having tried a couple of these I am not convinced they are the winning combo everyone hoped for. It needs more of a Biscoff punch and the Peanut Butter Chunky is still my reigning champion!
