Alpen Light Jaffa Cake & Banoffee

Cereal bars, the saviour of keeping those hunger pangs at bay and eating whilst on the run. It’s been a long time since Alpen Light has given us some new flavours but the time has finally come, enter Alpen Light Jaffa Cake and Alpen Light Banoffee. Browsing the aisles at Sainsbury’s, yes that’s right I found these in Sainsbury’s no less, I was just about to pick up the usual Cherry Bakewell and Chocolate & Fudge when I spied these. I have got to say I was pretty darn excited to see these two flavours, and even more eager to try them.  Jaffa…

Peanut Butter Oreo UK

After hearing Oreo were launching the Limited Edition Peanut Butter Oreo I made it my mission to find them. I loved the mini Reese’s Oreos I found in an American Sweet shop, and alongside being a PB fiend, I was more than eager to try these ‘normal’ sized versions. After searching a gazillion supermarkets, hence my lateness to this Oreo party, I finally found them as a Snack Pack. I’m partial to the snack pack varieties a) because I am less likely to scoff the whole pack, and b) the biscuits don’t go soft, nobody likes a soft biscuit! The menu is simple, covering your Classic to Cheese, to B-Rex and Chilli Queen. If beef isn’t your thing there’s a chicken, mushroom or bean burger on offer. No bun, no problem you can go skinny…

Marks & Spencer Gastropub Beef Wellington

Today’s post is a savoury number. Inspired by dishes found on gastropub menus, Marks & Spencer’s Gastropub range is ever expanding. In our house we are a huge fan of their Runny Scotch Eggs and have subsequently been eyeing up their Gastropub Beef Wellington for some time. At £14.99 it’s on the expensive side for a ready meal, but on this occasion we are taking the plunge. Cooking couldn’t be simpler. Place on a baking tray, pop in the oven for 25 minutes, and hey presto it should be a beautiful medium / rare.  British beef fillet with rich mushroom and chicken liver duxelle, wrapped…
