Heston from Waitrose Cherry Bakewell Hot Cross Buns

It’s out with Christmas and in with Easter. Christmas has barely finished and already we are faced with an abundance of Easter goods in the Supermarket. Now usually I wouldn’t partake in Easter goodies until nearer the time, however I spied these Heston Cherry Bakewell Hot Cross Buns in Waitrose yesterday and simply could not walk on by without buying them.  You cannot have Easter and not have hot cross buns, it is literally the law in our house that there must always be hot cross buns on offer. We have had the Heston Early Grey and Mandarin Hot Cross…

Irish Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramello & Golden Crunch

It’s no secret that I am a Cadbury Dairy Milk girl and in my opinion it really does trump Galaxy. My fellow bloggers have said that the Irish Cadbury Dairy Milk is by far superior than the UK version, and now that the Snack Warrior present fairy sent me a couple, I am going to see for myself. I was a little apprehensive to try theses bars through fear of it ruining the bars sold in the UK, but I am very intrigued to see if these are the bees knees of Cadbury Dairy Milk.  Cadbury Dairy Milk milk chocolate with a…

The Grown Up Chocolate Company Dark Chocolate Smoothy

Today we have another chocolate goodie from The Grown Up Chocolate Company. I have previously reviewed The Grown Up Chocolate Company’s Lovely Fruity Nutty Crunchy and Superb Salted Peanut Caramel and thanks to the forever lovely Miss Snack Warrior, the queen of exciting food parcels, today is the turn of their Dark Chocolate Smoothy.  So what does the Dark Chocolate Smoothy hold? Well we have a chocolate ganache centre topped with chocolate caramel all coated within dark chocolate. Doesn’t it look extremely inviting!  As suggested this bar is exceptionally smooth. You would think from the wedge of caramel it would be rather chewy and an exercise…

Lacasa Turrón de Cheesecake

Sunday the day of rest and today’s review is Lacasa turrón de Cheesecake, and was part of some exciting goodies brought back for me from Spain. Pretty as a picture and despite not being a great cheesecake fan. I was looking forward to trying this rather different goodie. Nougat Praline Cheesecake As with all cheesecakes you have the biscuit base and cheesecake upper, and this is no different, albeit the two layers aren’t very visible to the eye. The first thing I noticed was the smell, and not a very nice smell, a cross between cheap quality white chocolate and sickly…

Milka Oreo

Whilst on our travels over the Christmas period I took the opportunity to pop into a BM store as there isn’t one that local to me. Perusing the aisles I came across this Milka Oreo bar and at a bargain price of 99p I could not resist buying it. We all know that Cadbury Dairy Milk have attempted the Oreo and to be fair it’s not that bad, but it could be better. 100% Alpine milk chocolate and original crunchy Oreo cookie pieces. Unlike the Cadbury version, Milka is a lot flatter and does not pack as much filling. The Oreo pieces…
