Branded collaborations are clearly having their moment. We previously had the Creme Egg Oreos, there’s the newly launched Club Mint Digestives (still looking), the Monster Munch peanuts (coming to the blog soon), and then these Digestive Jaffa Cakes.
They have taken the classic digestive and given it a layer of orange flavour caramel and then covered them in a milk chocolate flavour coating. These are £2.25 a pack, although they are usually on offer somewhere, and you can buy them in all supermarkets.
They’re sweet, chewy, and undeniably delicious, offering something a little different from your standard chocolate digestive. The chocolate orange flavour is solid, delivering a pretty satisfying citrus hit without being overpowering or sickly. The chewy caramel won’t be for everyone but if you’re a fan of dunking your biscuits in a cuppa then it will soften the caramel and make these a little more indulgent.
That said, despite the name, these don’t really remind me of Jaffa Cakes. It is impossible to truly replicate given the lack of sponge. If you’re simply a chocolate orange lover looking for a tasty new biscuit to enjoy then give these Digestive Jaffa Cakes a try.
